Abstract

The gas-kinetic and energy properties of coking coal are studied. Samples collected by a fundamentally new approach proposed better reflect the properties of the undisturbed coal. The algorithm developed for laboratory research permits the collection of more information regarding the gas-kinetic and energy properties of the coal and provides the basis for new methods of assessing the explosion risk in the bed and the potential for gas releases.
