Abstract

In coking, the extent of the plastic layer and the coking period significantly affect the quality of the coke produced. In the present work, optimal relations are found between the extent of the plastic layer and the coking period, by modeling the extent of the plastic layer and the residence time in the plastic layer. The influence of the mean temperature in the heating wall and the width of the furnace chamber in the coke battery on the extent of the plastic layer is investigated.
