Abstract

A Black man began his second year of residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He was one of two Black residents. The resident claimed that he experienced discrimination largely involving an attending physician at the medical facility. He claimed that the physician regularly subjected him to excessive scrutiny and ongoing criticism. The resident further contended that no clear, objective standards were used to evaluate his work.
