Our results thus show that complex skills and cooperative behaviour-a hallmark of social cognition-do not predict larger REV in dogs. However, REV increases with fear and aggression, attention-seeking and separation anxiety and decreases with trainability. Domestic dogs display a remarkable diversity of functions, morphologies and cognitive abilities.
