Brain network changes after the first seizure: an insight into medication response?

Brain changes after ASM treatment were most prominent in the superior frontoparietal and inferior fronto-temporal regions. Participants with recurrent seizures display the most pronounced network changes after ASM treatment. This study shows changes in brain network function after ASM administration, particularly in participants with recurrent seizures. After a first epileptic seizure, anti-seizure medications (ASMs) can change the likelihood of having a further event.
