Repérer et orienter un patient présentant un trouble de l’usage d’une substance à l’officine

Abstract

Le patient présentant un trouble de l’usage d’une substance est souvent considéré par le pharmacien et les autres professionnels de santé comme complexe. Les difficultés sont en lien avec la pathologie addictive elle-même et représentent un frein réel au repérage et à la prise en charge. Le rôle du pharmacien ne peut pas se limiter à la simple délivrance d’un médicament. Il doit être proactif pour aborder la consommation de substances, repérer les situations à risque, accompagner en proximité et orienter si besoin.

Patients with substance use disorders are often considered complex by pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. The difficulties are linked to the addictive pathology itself, and represent a real obstacle to identification and treatment. The pharmacist’s role cannot be limited to simply dispensing medication. They need to be proactive in dealing with substance use, identifying at-risk situations, providing close support and guiding where necessary.
