Logically, this has brought about changes, but also continuities, in the material characteristics of these historical landscapes and in their social organization over time. This study presents a balance of the investigations of recent years on the characteristics of the creation of orchards (huertas) in the Andalusian period, especially in terms of the characteristics of their territorial organization. And it explains the homogeneity of the spatial design that all of them have, both in the mountainous areas of the interior of the country and in the peri-urban areas and in the great coastal plains.
