[A Preliminary Study on the Cognitive changes of Dazhui (GV14)].

Abstract

Dazhui(GV14) is one of the most commonly used acupoints in clinical diagnosis and treatment of diseases, which has been recorded and discussed in the literature by generations.However, there are many different interpretations of the description of the location of Dazhui(GV14), forming different acupoint selection methods, which directly affect the efficacy.Taking this as a problem-oriented approach,we analyzed the cognitive changes of the location of Dazhui(GV14) and acupoint selection by analyzing the descriptions of Dazhui(GV14) and acupoint selection in ancient literature, textbooks of modern Chinese medicine colleges and national standards.Combining modern anatomy and a variety of different perspectives,we believe that Dazhui(GV14) should be in the depression between the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra and the spinous process of the 1st thoracic vertebra, and looking down to take the acupoint is the key of its needling techniques.
