Abstract
The unnoticed invasion of mites is attributed to the absence of consistent monitoring over time. This recent investigation identified the presence of the cassava green mite, Mononychellus mcgregori (Flechtmann and Baker 1970), on Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) for the first time in the Indian subcontinent. The study involves a comprehensive re-description of the invasive mite, Mononychellus mcgregori (Flechtmann and Baker), employing an integrative approach. The report also highlights the potential future threat posed by the invasive mite to crop diversity in India.
