To collect data in this research, qualitative descriptive methods were used which included observation, documentation and interviews. Those involved in this research were the principal, deputy principal, teachers and other staff members who took part in this research. Research conclusions include the following: 1) Principal leadership in fostering teacher professionalism. Here are some of the principal's responsibilities: Effective communication, working relationships or collaboration, and responsibility. 2) The professionalism of PAB 21 Pematang Johar Middle School teachers is being developed. The role of teacher professionalism includes: Learning methodology, program evaluation, and in-depth mastery of educational resources are part of a teacher's professional responsibilities. However, some teachers lack commitment; examples include failure to prepare teaching materials or equipment, being late to class, missing class or being prevented from attending class, and failing to use teaching resources. However, in principle, the principal always tries to solve this problem at a personal level by offering guidance, providing rewards, incentives and punishments as well as effective communication. Then, to provide quality and productive learning, provide direction and opportunities for instructors to demonstrate their skills in carrying out their professional teaching obligations.Keywords: Leadership, Principal, Professional Teacher Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan bagaimana profesional yang digunakan di SMP PAB 21 Pematang Johar untuk menumbuhkan profesionalisme guru. Untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini, digunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang meliputi observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Adapun yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini yaitu kepala sekolah, wakil kepala, guru, dan anggota staf lainnya berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Kesimpulan penelitian antara lain sebagai berikut: 1) Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam membina profesionalisme guru. Berikut beberapa tanggung jawab kepala sekolah: Komunikasi yang efektif, hubungan kerja atau kolaborasi, dan bertanggung jawab. 2) Profesionalisme guru SMP PAB 21 Pematang Johar sedang dikembangkan. Adapun peranan profesionalisme guru mencakup : Metodologi pembelajaran, evaluasi program, dan penguasaan sumber daya pendidikan secara mendalam merupakan bagian dari tanggung jawab profesional seorang guru. Namun demikian, beberapa guru kurang memiliki komitmen; contohnya termasuk kegagalan menyiapkan materi atau peralatan pengajaran, terlambat masuk kelas, tidak masuk kelas atau dilarang mengikuti kelas, dan gagal menggunakan sumber daya pengajaran. Namun prinsipnya kepala sekolah selalu berupaya menyelesaikan masalah ini pada tingkat pribadi dengan menawarkan bimbingan, memberikan reward, insentif, dan hukuman serta komunikasi yang efektif.
