Abstract

The features of propagation of ultrashort electromagnetic pulses with a nonzero electric area in plasma media are considered. In the framework of the approximation of unidirectional pulse propagation, general solutions of the equation for the electric area of a pulse in a conducting medium with a linear response to an external influence were obtained. The obtained data are compared with the results of calculations of the electric pulse area based on the exact solution of the second-order wave equation.
