This review summarizes the most recent advances in the management of selected nonurothelial subtypes of bladder cancer: squamous cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma, sarcomatoid urothelial carcinoma, micropapillary carcinoma, plasmacytoid carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, and urachal carcinoma. The role of neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy has not been well characterized for most of these histologies, and prospective data are extremely limited.
