On average, 53.61% did not have proper knowledge about overall kidney disease. Correct knowledge about maintaining kidney health was among 38.1% of patients with 36.59% unsure about their knowledge and 25.31% declaring their lack of knowledge. A low level of knowledge about kidney health was found among the patients suffering from CKD in Santhal Parganas, a region with a tribal population with a low literacy rate. The identified knowledge gap emphasizes the need for a tailored educational program for CKD patients by doctors and patients relative.
