Relevant aspects to be included in a national strategic plan for water services

Abstract

Governments bear the responsibility for shaping sustainable and inclusive public policies for water services. A robust and comprehensive vision is crucial for water services, embodied in a holistic public policy. A holistic approach must encompass institutional, legal, technical, economic, financial, and social dimensions. Addressing both the current issues and the emerging challenges in the water sector is essential. It is necessary to align national strategic plans for water services with the strategic plans of local water utilities.
