Abstract

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic presented unprecedented challenges due to the number of patients who developed acute respiratory failure The Field Hospital is mainly characterized as a hospital structure, put into use quickly, of a temporary nature, intended to care for patients with similar medical conditions, characterized as a consequence of pandemics or catastrophes of natural or human causes. In this sense, this study aims to describe the profile and clinical outcomes of patients with COVID-19 admitted to field hospitals in the Federal District during the Covid-19 Pandemic.Methodology: Descriptive, documentary study of all patients admitted to ICUs in four field hospitals in the Federal District, Brazil. There were 1584 patients hospitalized in Field Hospitals Results: There were 894 (56.4%) males, median age of 61 years, 31.4% were overweight and 37.1% were obese. Length of stay with a median of 12 days. The mortality rate was 63.6%.Conclusion: The patients referred were older, male, the majority without reported comorbidities, the majority already had insufficiency hemodynamics, sepsis or septic shock, and respiratory failure upon admission.
