Abstract
oxygen into the atmosphere and the reduction (sequestration) of carbon dioxide, which is of great importance in the context of climate change and the preservation of natural ecosystems. In case of the first class of bonita — self-sustaining forests can generate 24.00 Mt/year of oxygen and absorb 5.28 Mt/year of carbon, provided that self-sustaining forests are formed exclusively of the fourth class of tree stands bonita, the volume of oxygen emission will be minimal — 6.00 Mt/year per year, and carbon sequestration — 3.60 Mt/year. The approximate cost of oxygen emissions from self-seeding forest plantations on agricultural land has been calculated: For class I of the bonus class, the probable amount of financial revenues is the largest and can reach 168.03 million UAH/year, for class II — 100.82 million UAH/year, class III — 67.21 million UAH/year, and class IV — 42.01 million UAH/year It is established that the maximum probable amount of financial revenues from carbon dioxide sequestration by self-sustaining forests in Ukraine possible with the formation of a stand in accordance with the first class of the bonus class is 158.43 million UAH/year, while under pessimistic calculations, the minimum probable amount of financial revenues from carbon dioxide sequestration by self-sustaining forests in Ukraine can be generated with the formation of a stand of the lowest class of the bonus class IV — at the level of 108.02 million UAH/year. According to the results obtained in the course of the study, the maximum probable amount of financial revenues from carbon dioxide sequestration by self-supplying forests in Ukraine, possible in the case of a stand of forests in accordance with the first class of bonita, is 158.43 million UAH/year, while pessimistic calculations show that the minimum probable amount of financial revenues from carbon dioxide sequestration by self-supplying forests in Ukraine can be generated in the case of a stand of the lowest class of bonita IV — at the level of 108.02 million UAH/year.
