Eight participants were interviewed to explore the intersubjective contextual experience of the phenomenon. The resulting structural essence, <i>running on ice in the midst of the fog</i>, contains four constituents: <i>existence of epilepsy</i>, <i>running on ice</i>, <i>the fog</i>, and <i>gaining traction</i>.
