Abstract

The Hlučín Region, which today forms part of the Czech Republic, is a region whose name was used in modern times and for the first time in connection with its annexation to the Czechoslovak Republic in 1920. The course of its eventful history, which was determined by various power interests, was significantly influenced over the centuries by the coexistence of the Czech/Moravian population with the German minority. The influence of the German language, culture, customs and manners is reflected in political and social coexistence as well as, among other things. in the regional folk songs.
