Abstract

Complex in nature and classied according to where they occur in the uterine layers, uterine broids are impacted by a wide range of risk factors, such as age, race, parity, and lifestyle decisions that have an impact on a woman's life. A cross-sectional study conducted in a private medical college found a signicant prevalence of uterine broids among women aged 20 or older. The study found a prevalence of 66.6%, with intramural broids dominating at 80.5%. Menorrhagia was the most common symptom, with the majority falling into the 40-49 age range. Signicant associations were found between broid diagnosis, menopausal status, age, oral contraceptive pill use, and hypertension. The study also highlighted the need for customised healthcare interventions in rural Palghar district to address the complex issues raised by uterine broids.
