Abstract

Waste management in Kotabaru Village is not going well, where people still throw rubbish on open land, throw it in the river and burn it. This occurs because residential waste management is subpar and there is insufficient landfill infrastructure to enable the application of Community-Based Total Sanitation's fourth pillar (STBM). Thus, waste management counselling, sorting, and instruction in producing compost and organic liquid fertiliser from domestic garbage can all be provided. Preparation, execution, and assessment are the three phases that make up mentoring. Complete extension equipment is being prepared, along with coordination with the environmental health coordinator to oversee the management of community service activities (PKM) and carry out the programme in Kotabaru Village. The community responded to the pre-and post-test results with great enthusiasm, as may be observed from the implementation of counselling and training. After the counselling session, there was an increase in the outcomes of the pre-and post-test responses.
