In this new post-crisis era, various challenges have emerged, including the accounting profession. This study aims to find out the standard of skills needed to engage in the accounting profession under the new normal. The standard is in line with the job market demand data for beginners in the accounting profession disclosed on the Jobstreet job vacancy site. The population and sample of this study were 151 job vacancies, including the categories of \"audit and taxation\", \"banking or finance\"; \"Finance or Investment\", and \"General Accounting or Finance\". The results of this study found 17 levels of people's proficiency, namely: (1) having work experience; (2) having Certificate A and B; (3) knowing tax laws and regulations; (4) being able to operate computer programs; (5) having communication skills; (6) being proficient in foreign languages; (7) having an independent attitude; (8) having high initiative; (9) having a disciplined attitude; (10) teamwork/organizational skills; (11) willingness to work overtime; (12) wise and meticulous attitude; (13) honest attitude; (14) responsible attitude; (15) accounting skills; (16) analytical skills; (17) written and report skills.
