During the study period, we recorded 480 cases of obstetric emergencies, of which 160 cases were emergency blood transfusions, i.e. 33.33%. Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) was the first indication for blood transfusion with a frequency of 28.8% of patients. Management was based on: Blood transfusion with diversified PSLs (whole blood, CGR, PFC). Abstract
It is a prospective and cross-sectional study, carried out at the Gynecological-Obstetrics department of the reference health center of commune I "Dr. Koniba PLEAH" from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020, i.e. 12 months. The main objective was to contribute to the study of the place of blood transfusion in the management of obstetric emergencies.
