PCR has revolutionized the field of dentistry by enabling precise and sensitive detection of various oral pathogens, genetic markers associated with dental diseases, and host response factors. Its ability to amplify specific DNA sequences from minimal starting material has facilitated rapid and accurate diagnosis of dental infections, periodontal diseases, and genetic predispositions to oral conditions. Moreover, PCR-based methods have enhanced our understanding of the oral microbiome composition and its relationship with overall health.
