To assess the mechanical resistance of these connections, the numerical non-linear FE modelling with ABAQUS software were utilized, which is then validated against results obtained from the analytical model developed by Kalmykova &amp; Wald [1]. Material modelling is carried out for steel grades S355, S460, and S690, using standardized parametric curves as outlined in EN 1993-1-8. Abstract

The presented research aims to investigate how the choice of steel grade affects the resistance of T-shaped RHS-to-RHS structural connections, specifically those involving an offset of a brace toward the wall of a chord.
