Abstract
This article is based on a master's thesis which examined osteopathic treatment options for the inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) Crohn's disease (MC) and ulcerative colitis (UC).
The many years of research in conventional medicine is reflected in the existence of comprehensive S3 guidelines for both diseases. Although there is also already research within osteopathy on treatment options for IBD, it is actually limited to individual studies and therefore cannot be regarded as generally valid. This qualitative research attempted to capture MC and UC in osteopathic practice with all its facets.
