Abstract

In a double cover interview at the start of 2024 with ‚Monitor Health Services Research‘, Prof Josef Hecken, the impartial chairman of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA), and Prof Wolfgang Hoffmann, Chairman of the German Network for Health Services Research (DNVF), discuss the future role, significance and position of health services research, which has now come of age. The more frequently its results are incorporated into far-reaching political decision-making processes - such as the current federal hospital reform - the more headwinds are blowing against it. Health services research must learn to deal with this.
