Abstract

The following biographical article is based on the author's knowledge of Dr. Ilizarov, the 1987 Sir Robert Jones Lecturer for the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute. Some of the material included was originally published in the author's book, Russian Doctor, published by St. Martin's/Marek Press in New York in 1984.
