Abstract

This research elucidates the intricate relationship between emotions and sports performance, employing quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The Emotional States in Sports Questionnaire [1] revealed that most athletes experienced heightened anxiety during significant events, negatively impacting their performance. In contrast, excitement appeared as a potential performance enhancer. Qualitative findings introduced themes such as the "Double-Edged Sword of Expectations," highlighting the confluence of personal and external pressures, and "Emotional Navigation on the Field," emphasizing the importance of emotion management. Conclusively, this study underscores the multifaceted and individual-specific nature of emotions in sports, suggesting targeted interventions to foster a healthier emotional climate for athletes.
