Holy Scriptures as a special area of interest in the scholarly, preaching and translation activities of Bishop Sofron Mudryi

Abstract

The article analyses the scientific, translation and preaching activities of Bishop Sofron Mudryi, which were based on the Holy Scripture. The main aspects of his activity both abroad and in Ukraine are highlighted. The main works in which the Holy Scriptures are a special area of his interest are studied. The use of biblical texts in speeches at various scientific conferences, as well as in a large number of his sermons, is highlighted. Emphasis is placed on the importance of translation activity in the field of theology. Attention is drawn to the role of Bishop Sofron Mudryi in guiding the translation of the Dictionary of Biblical Theology into Ukrainian.
