Abstract

Thymol is a naturally occurring compound found in the essential oils of thyme, oregano, and other plants. It has been shown to have a variety of pharmacological activities, including antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. In recent years, researchers have investigated the potential of thymol as an anticancer agent. However, thymol has limited solubility and poor bioavailability, which limits its use as a therapeutic agent. To overcome these limitations, researchers have developed various nano-based drug delivery systems (NDDS) to improve the efficacy of thymol.
