Pendampingan Penggunaan Buku Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (KIA) sebagai Upaya Pencegahan Stunting di Nagari Tanjung Bingkung Kabupaten Solok

Abstract

Stunting is chronic malnutrition in young children caused by long-term undernutrition and usually followed by frequent illnesses. Mothers of toddlers do not know how to use maternal and child health books for various reasons. To improve the service of mother class participants in the use of the MCH manual in the Tanjung Bingkung Health Centre working area, especially in Jorong Koto Tangah, it is necessary to carry out activities in the form of community service. This service was carried out by lecturers and students of the Muhammad Yamin Biology Education Programme at Mahaputra University, helping use MCH manuals and building the capacity of health workers to prevent stunting. This community service programme aims to provide an understanding to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers in Jorong Koto Tangah about the importance of MCH books in stunting prevention. The community service resulted in the number of pregnant and lactating mothers who brought the MCH book to the next month's Posyandu activity.
