Respondents who were not concerned about treated water to be released in the sea (odds ratio 0.6, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.4–1.0), drinking tap water from Futaba (odds ratio 0.4, 95%CI 0.3–0.7), experiencing health effects from radiation exposure (odds ratio 0.5, 95%CI 0.3–0.9) and genetic effects (odds ratio 0.4, 95%CI 0.2–0.6) had higher expectations of the town’s recovery.
