Lalang. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Al Washliyah 23 Kp. The total number of 113 students in Lalang was students of class VIII-1 at SMP Al Washliyah 23 Kp. 30 students for the 2022-2023 Academic Year. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. To analyze the data is done by making a list of raw scores, making a frequency distribution of raw scores, calculating student ability scores, finding the average value, classifying student abilities, making descriptions of student ability classifications and making descriptions of student ability classifications. Based on the results of the data processing as a whole it was found that students who were good at writing poetry through the application were 22 people (73.3%) and students who were not good at writing poetry were 8 people (26.7%). Thus it can be said that the ability to write poetry through the Canva application for class VIII students of SMP Al Washliyah 23 Kp.
