Written batik as space for the artists, meaning freedom of expression, but still has values attached to each motif. Written batik is a social production, which is formed from the dynamic cultural reconstruction of society. This research aims to explain how written batik production can be categorized as social production, which is collective in nature as a result of cultural reconstruction of society and how the supporting components create the production of batik cloth art. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach, using Janet Wolff's theory of social production. The results of the research show that in its production, hand-written batik is essentially a collective production, relying on the division of labor at each stage of the production process. Written batik has developed to this day because of the cultural reconstruction of society.
