Abstract

This research aims to explore the experiences of transgender individuals in their self-adjustment within Islamic boarding schools, commonly known as pesantrens. It examines the challenges faced by transgender individuals, the strategies employed by pesantrens to facilitate their self-adjustment, and the role of culture and religion in shaping their experiences. The study also investigates the significance of social support networks in assisting transgender individuals during their journey of self-adjustment within pesantrens.
