Abstract
This paper presents the results of studies on the phase behavior of a nanosized aqueous dispersion of n-hexacosane (n-C26H54) using dynamic and static light scattering methods. The melting, crystallization, and rotator phase temperatures of particles of the test n-alkane were determined. A decrease in the melting temperature by 0.2°C and a decrease in the crystallization temperature by 14°C were observed for n-hexacosane (n-C26H54) particles with a size of no greater than 100 nm. The particles of the test n-alkane also exhibited an additional rotator phase, which was not observed in the bulk sample.
