This article is aimed at drawing attention to this problem and searching for possible options for the use of nonresidential stock in Russian regions in modern conditions. The author analyzes modern publications of Russian and foreign authors on the studied issues. Of scientific and practical interest are the author's proposals on the use of the non-residential fund of St. Petersburg to increase the income of the city budget.
