Abstract

ABSTRACT Bacteriophage λ is a paradigm in the field of gene regulation and one of the best-understood systems in genetic regulatory biology. A so-called Genetic Switch determines the mechanisms by which λ transitions to its dual lifestyles—lytic or lysogenic.
