Guided imagery as a coping measure for children with cancer.

Abstract

Marilyn H. Hockenberry, RN, MSN, PNP, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Cure for childhood cancer has been established by aggressive treatment programs that cause numerous side effects. For this reason it is essential for nurses caring for children with cancer to become involved with early intervention programs designed to decrease side effects of treatment.
