[Suggestions for a rational approach to dilatation of benign esophageal stenoses using balloon catheterization].

Abstract

The paper summarizes the experience in performing dilatation of benign stanoses of oesophagus of different origin. In the period from October 1985 through September 1987, 215 dilatation interventions were performed in 25 patients. The paper establishes necessary principles before the dilatation, evaluates the course and effect of dilatation in relation to the technique used and outlines a recommendation for rational procedure for safe execution of the therapeutic procedure.
