[Nursing care in chronic pain due to cancer].

Abstract

The need for effective pain relief for several million cancer patients who suffer from chronic pain, led to the foundation of pain centers all over the world. Aspects for the satisfactory management of pain and the contribution of the professional nurse as an active member of the team in these centers are discussed.
