Abstract
The facial massif plays a significant role in the postural balance, but treatments of the anatomical lesions of the low and middle face rarely deal with this aspect. The set sat back maxillo-facial implants take into account these orthopaedic data to get an optimal leaning osseous cicatrisation. This article exposes the theoretical bases of the complete maxillo-mandibular rehabilitations using set sat back implants. Moreover, this study introduces the principles of an extreme implantology on an atrophic bone and it describes the management of the main associated anatomical obstacles. Finally, the treatment of a terminal maxillo-mandibular atrophy will be developed step by step, to show the clinical reality of the rehabilitation orthopaedic concept and to discuss about the indications of the various implantology technologies face to the most delicate clinical situations.
