Abstract
The case is reported of a 29 year-old patient with a strong suspicion of ovarian cancer with pelvic inflammatory disease. A laparotomy was performed, with the final diagnosis of the biopsies being consistent with peritoneal tuberculosis. There were non-specific clinical data, such as night fever, constitutional syndrome, and elevated CA-125. Ultrasound pelvic masses may be common in both conditions. Cultures can be negative, and are not necessary for diagnosis, which can be performed with peritoneal biopsies, in order that specific therapy can be started to achieve a good prognosis of clinical outcome.
