Abstract

Insulin resistance (IR), which is linked to obesity, is a mechanism associated with metabolic diseases, mainly type 2 diabetes mellitus. Studies have shown that monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties which positively affect IR.
