Some reflections on the methodology of philosophy

Abstract

The metaphilosophical thesis is put forth that the three main areas of any serious philosophical reflection are: ontology, epistemology, and (philosophical) semantics. To some extent, they can be dealt with independently from each other, but on a certain level of sophistication in the analysis, their mutual relationships have to be taken into account.
