Tensões (anti)democráticas no Brasil contemporâneo: reflexões sobre Direitos Humanos no século XXI

Abstract

Since the consecration of the Federal Constitution of 1988 and the inauguration of the Democratic State of Law in the country, human rights have been a burning issue that, with frequency, mobilizes different political affections of social groups. Thus, this article intends to analyze, within the historical process that developed human rights in modernity, how they have been articulated, mobilized and effectively managed in Brazil since the end of the military dictatorship in the 1980s. it is to highlight, among the contradictions and paradoxes of the aforementioned concept, the theoretical and affective uses that the hegemonic Brazilian groups, such as the current national extreme right, have been making of human rights in last decades.
