Abstract

The pages of the biography of the head of the Molotov (Perm) State (classical) University A.I. Bukirev, including his military biography as a participant in the battles near the Khalkhin-Gol River in 1939 and during the harsh years of the Great Patriotic War. The author shows the scientific and pedagogical activity of the venerable researcher-ichthyologist, a remarkable organizer of science in the difficult years of Stalinist repressions, which required a certain personal courage while protecting scientists (especially humanists) in the difficult for them pre-war and post-war years.
