Проблема ненормативной лексики в контексте публичности и традиционных ценностей

Abstract

The article attempts to conduct a theoretical review and empirical generalization of some key parameters of profanity, decomposing the impact of obscenity on society and the spiritual world of a person, identified by scientists, religious thinkers, philosophers, publicists and writers. Its main content lies in the title, which suggests a search for an answer to the question, what are the main factors that determine the large-scale spread of foul language in modern Russian society, as well as how to protect the purity of speech. There are no reliable recipes here, but there are a number of provisions with which, if adopted, it is easier to overcome this problem, which has become extremely aggravated in our time. Touching upon aspects of the origin of swearing, the authors reveal the arguments of defenders and opponents of profanity, and consider the main results of polls of Voronezh residents on this issue. In addition, the article describes the legal liability for obscene language in Russia. The authors conclude that freedom of speech should in no way contradict the traditional rights of citizens, including the right to cleanse the public sphere of profanity, which corresponds to the desire of the vast majority of the population.
