Abstract

War stress is a difficult experience that needs to be regulated. During the ongoing phases of acute stress and burnout, a population may greatly benefit from traditional ways of recovery, such as musical concerts. Especially fulfilling, perhaps, is the experience of concerts, organised within the framework of available scientific data, according to which music can be used as a modulator for stress reactions, as a pathway to sharing experiences and as a means of emotional regulation. The project Recovery was launched by the Lviv National Philharmonia and the Department of Psychology and Psychotherapy of the Ukrainian Catholic University within the scientific framework and with the aim of strengthening personal resilience through listening to music in a psychologically sensitive and supportive environment. Possible benefits, our observations and the future direction of the project are discussed.
