Abstract

The article studies the patterns of morphological changes in the thyroid gland and adrenal glands in a newborn white-breasted hedgehog, which should be considered as a compensatory-adaptive reaction of the body aimed at maintaining metabolic homeostasis by the period of postnatal life. In 75% of cases, a definitive cortical substance was found, which is not accompanied by zonal differentiation.
